User Insights
When dancers look for an audio product to support their practice and creation, they care most about three things:

Sound Clarity
“I can’t hear the instruments clearly
enough to choreograph.”
Stability
“Every time I hit a big move,
my earbuds slip or fall out.”
Identity Expression
“Nothing matches my style
or feels like it belongs to me.”
Product Typology
Among the most common audio product types, categorized by wearing style, the clip-on type offers the best balance of stability, comfort, and sound quality.

Opportunity
“ How might we design products and interactions that let dancers stay fully in flow ? ”

Design Directions

Sense of Roughness
Freeform & Variance
Vibrant & Energy

Form Ideation
Dancers draw through space with movement, carving invisible traces and leaving energy in the air. The form is inspired by these traces of motion.
Ergonomics
Different dance movements have their distinct force patterns, the dual-hook structure is designed to stabilize the earbud across these dynamic conditions.

Material & Manufacture

CMF Directions
CMF directions draw from stage and street culture to create a sense of belonging.
Basic Line
Dance requires deep bodily awareness, spatial perception, and the presence of others, which are better supported by a low-distraction environment.

Culture-driven
For dancers, products are expressions of culture as much as performance. Different genres often translate into distinct aesthetic preferences.

CMF Directions
A special CMF direction inspired by crew culture, focusing on dance crews as cultural units.

Accessories
Designed for multiple scenarios, including a leather carrying pouch for portability and a wired option for higher-fidelity studio use.

Digital Experience
A companion app that extends the listening experience, with playback shortcuts for clipping audio and supporting focused rehearsal.
